Topics for discussion
- The objectives of the workshop process
- Opportunities for “foundation” commitments to enable, accelerate or join up, the work of multiple agencies
- The purpose of the upcoming meeting with the Minister
- Future officials’ meetings
Notes
- The objective of the workshop was to develop 1500 ideas
- Te Kawa Mataaho aims to support agencies to bring the ideas through to a conclusion in the 4th National Action Plan (NAP4)
- NAP4 commitments will be developed with civil society organisations, in line with a policy process and exceed the work agencies have planned
- “Foundation” pieces of work are important, i.e. pieces of work that must be done first, in order to be able to advance other, multiple Open Government Partnership commitments, and that:
- agencies waiting on this work could perhaps lean in to support the agency doing the foundation work
- officials could help by identifying and prioritising their foundation pieces of work so that other agencies could use or build on these
- officials could look for connections across agencies’ work, as well as share progress in implementing commitments, to help join up agencies’ work in particular areas.
- The purpose of the meeting was to present the Minister with a table of options and get the Minister’s thoughts on these
- Agreed that officials will have more regular meetings, to share progress and move the work forward
