16 June 2021 - Expert Advisory Panel Meeting

Attendees

Representatives from Te Kawa Mataaho | Public Service Commission

Members of the Expert Advisory Panel

Topics for discussion

  • 4th National Action Plan (NAP4)
  • Planning for public workshop for 22 June

Notes

  • Separate budget lines for Open Government Partnership would increase visibility
  • Probus Club meeting on 18 June is an opportunity to test different methodology of gathering ideas
  • Te Kawa Mataaho needs to sequence the refreshing of the Expert Advisory Panel in 2022 – retaining experience while bringing in fresh thinking:
  • Add some officials to the group, e.g. Treasury
  • Peak body for reach e.g. Hui E!
  • Need to be aware of recent Official Information Act commentary and comments by the Minister of Justice, and reflect them in the process
  • Look for an opportunity for a civil society organisation-led (or co-led) commitment
  • Look for narrow specific commitment as well as wider-reaching
