Open Government Partnership: Draft New Zealand’s Fourth National Action Plan - 2023-2024

The Independent Reporting Mechanism

The Independent Reporting Mechanism (IRM) is OGP’s accountability arm and monitors the progress of National Action Plans. The IRM provides independent, evidence-based, and objective reporting to hold OGP members to account to support their open government efforts. A key output of the IRM is the “Transitional Results Report”, delivered at the end of the implementation of a National Action Plan. Elizabeth Eppel was appointed in 2022 as the new IRM for New Zealand. Elizabeth succeeds Keitha Booth, who was New Zealand’s IRM until the end of 2021.
